Zoe Keating nominated for Emmy for HBO's Olso

Congratulations to Zoe Keating and Jeff Russo for their recent Emmy nomination for the score to HBO's Oslo. Not only is the film great, but the music is excellent. I was fortunate enough to work on this score with Zoe, and I have to say that I was not expecting the music to be so prominently featured in the film. I am used to music being buried by sound effects and dialog. I often cringe when I see a film that I have worked on because of how poorly the music is integrated into the final mix. But the music in Oslo sounds excellent and is a highly featured part in the film. I really enjoyed mixing Zoe's haunting cello into this epic soundscape. It was great to see that I wasn't the only one who appreciated the music for this film. Definitely check out this film on HBO here.
